The Public Prosecutor's Office today brought charges against a 19-year-old woman, accused of having assaulted her own two-year-old daughter. The incident took place in the city of General Roca, where the woman struck her daughter with a backpack and then pushed her into Route 6, exposing her to vehicular traffic. The girl suffered a bruise and signs of prior abuse. The mother was charged with 'Abandonment of a person and minor injuries', aggravated by the relationship.
The aggressor will remain in prison during the judicial process, while her daughter was placed under the care of the Ministry of Childhood, Adolescence, and Family. The public defender did not object to the charges nor to the precautionary measure; however, they requested a reduction in the duration of the latter.
In a statement, the prosecutor in charge of the case expressed: "This is an extremely serious and worrying fact. The integrity of a minor has been violated, and it is our duty as a society to ensure her protection and well-being at all times."
